Feature
Over-speed alerts
Set a speed limit for your vehicle and get a message every time it is crossed, with where and when. Most useful when someone else is driving.
Included in Basic, Lite, Infinity+ plans.
What it does
Knowing how the vehicle is being driven
You cannot be in the passenger seat every time your vehicle goes out. A speed alert is the closest thing to it.
A limit you choose
Set the figure that makes sense for the vehicle and how it is used — a school bus and a highway truck are not the same.
Told at the time
The alert reaches your phone when it happens, not in a report you read at the end of the week.
With the location
Each alert says where it happened, so you can tell a highway stretch from a residential street.
How it works
How it works
- 1
You set the limit
Choose the speed in the app for that vehicle.
- 2
The device watches speed continuously
Speed comes from the GPS position updates, so it does not depend on the vehicle’s own speedometer.
- 3
Crossing it raises an alert
When the vehicle goes above the limit, an alert is generated with the time and place.
- 4
It lands on your phone
You see it immediately, and it stays in the alerts list so you can look back over it later.
Worth knowing
- Speed is measured from GPS, which is usually very close to the vehicle’s speedometer but not identical to it. Treat it as an accurate indication rather than a legal instrument.
- A limit set too low on a vehicle that regularly uses highways will alert constantly and quickly get ignored. Set something you actually want to hear about.
- The alert tells you it happened. It does not slow the vehicle down.
