How often does the position update?

The device reports continuously while the vehicle is running, so the map keeps up with it as it moves.

Does the app work if I am in another city?

Yes. You are looking at data on our servers, not connecting to the vehicle directly, so where you are makes no difference.

Can two people watch the same vehicle at once?

Yes. You can share access so other people can see the vehicle from their own phones.

Does the app drain my phone battery while tracking?

The tracking is done by the device in the vehicle, not by your phone. The app only uses power while you have it open.

Live vehicle tracking

Open the app and see where your vehicle is right now — the road it is on, which way it is pointing and how fast it is going. This is the feature everything else is built on.

Seeing the vehicle, not a report about it

Live tracking is the difference between finding out what happened and watching it happen.

Position on a map

The vehicle appears on the map where it actually is, updating as it moves, so you can follow it rather than refreshing a list.

Speed and direction

Along with the position you get how fast it is going and which way it is heading — enough to tell whether it is parked, crawling in traffic or on a highway.

Moving or stopped

The app shows whether the ignition is on and whether the vehicle is currently moving, so you are not guessing from a dot on a map.

How it works

How the position gets to your phone

The device works out where it is
The tracker receives GPS satellite signals and calculates its position, the same way the maps app on your phone does.

It sends that over mobile data
A SIM built into the device sends the position to our servers. The SIM and its data are included in your plan.

Our servers record it
Each update is stored, which is what makes trip history possible, and checked against any alerts you have set.

The app shows it to you
Open the app and the latest position is on the map. Keep it open and you watch the vehicle move.

Worth knowing

Where live tracking is limited

GPS needs a view of the sky. In basement parking and tunnels the position will not update until the vehicle comes out — you see the last good position before it went in.
Positions travel over the mobile network. With no signal, the device stores them and sends them through once coverage returns, so history stays complete but live view catches up late.
In dense clusters of tall buildings, accuracy can drop for a while as signals bounce. This affects every GPS device, including your phone.

In open conditions GPS is typically accurate to within a few metres — close enough to tell which side of a road the vehicle is on. Accuracy drops in tunnels, basements and among tall buildings.
